The Future is Now: Recapping TakeControl 2025

What a week last week was.

We wrapped up our ninth-ever TakeControl 2025, and I’m still buzzing from the energy. We had thousands of you—incredible FloQast users—join us for two days of insights, announcements, and a few surprises. We upped the production value this year, and the feedback has been amazing. A huge thank you to everyone who tuned in.

If you weren’t able to attend, yes, the rumors are true. We had the legendary Tony Hawk join us. Seeing a master of one craft connect with the masters of another (that’s you, accountants) was a highlight. It was a perfect metaphor for what we’re trying to build: tools that help you achieve a new level of balance, skill, and performance.

TakeControl has always been about putting power into the hands of accountants. This year, we took that mission to a whole new level. We didn't just talk about the future of accounting; we delivered it.

For a while now, "AI" has been a buzzword thrown around so much it’s almost lost its meaning. It often feels like a solution in search of a problem. At FloQast, we’ve taken a different approach. • AI Detections: Imagine an extra set of eyes continuously monitoring your general ledger. That's AI Detections. It uses AI-suggested rules (or custom ones you create) to flag potential errors and anomalies before they become a fire drill during the close. It’s proactive, not reactive.
• AI Testing: We’re bringing intelligent automation to your audit processes. AI Testing can read and annotate supporting documents, providing a first pass on pass/fail conclusions for your internal controls testing. This frees up your team to focus on the exceptions and the bigger picture.
• AI Variance Analysis: Say goodbye to manually digging through spreadsheets to explain why numbers changed. AI Variance Analysis automatically detects and explains material variances in real time, tracing them all the way back to the source transactions. It’s the "why" behind the "what," delivered instantly.

A Platform That Grows With You

AI is powerful, but it’s even better within a connected, holistic ecosystem. We know that the more integrated your tools are, the smarter your processes become. That’s why we also announced new platform integrations and functions designed to make your entire workflow more seamless, especially for our enterprise customers.

We’re launching a new Workday GL Integration, allowing you to seamlessly pull general ledger data for reconciliation, variance analysis, and journal entry posting. We also rolled out Report Builder, a dynamic, pivot-like interface that lets you create audit-ready reports with complete drill-down visibility into your source data.

Finally, we’ve expanded our robust testing functionality. We took the power of our SOX testing solution and applied it to support risk and operational audits, giving you a comprehensive view of compliance across the organization.

Upskilling the Profession for the Future

Empowering accountants means giving you the tools and the skills to use them effectively. That’s why I’m incredibly proud to announce the launch of the FloQast Certified Accountant (FCA) program.

Available for free through FloQademy, FCA is a new certification designed to bridge the talent gap and equip you with the skills needed to thrive in this new, AI-driven era. We envision the FCA becoming an industry standard credential—a resume-ready mark of excellence that showcases your expertise, much like a CPA or a Salesforce certification. It demonstrates that you are a leader in accounting transformation.
